Barcode Label Producer for Fisa Logger
Background
The recommendation for a machine with barcode reader is the fixed barcode reader
(laser). This is particularly true if the loading position is a conveyor buffer.
The robot must read the barcode label at a precise moment in order to decide whether
to load the basket or not. If the barcode label for each basket has not been
produced in advance the operator needs to prepare the label to be attached to each
basket. This label can contain several data such as manufacturing order, cleaning
program, article number and any other information to be saved in Fisa Logger with
each basket.
Application
The Label Producer is a small application that produces a barcode label and sends it to the label printer.
The operator reads one or several barcodes with a manual scanner (connected to the PC) from a work order sheet and, when ready, clicks the print button and takes the printed label and attaches it to the basket going into the cleaning machine. The group of barcodes will be registered in Fisa Logger. An unlimited number of labels may be combined, the limitation being the length of the group in relation to the paper label and the performance of the fixed scanner. The application exists in English and French only, but can
be adapted to any needed language.

Printer
The printer to be used is the DYMO LabelWriter 400 http://www.dymo.com
Paper
The paper for labels is LabelWriter Labels, Large Address Labels 99012 with 260 permanent adhesive labels on a roll. The dimensions of the label are 36 x 89 mm.

The recommended scanner is Touch65 from Datalogics http://www.datalogic.com
Fixed Scanner (Laser)
